about

The Archive - Unreleased and notable selections from the past.

Digging through dusty boxes of old cassette tapes, floppies and DATs, Moonstarr decided to compile some unreleased and classic joints from The Archive. This nostalgic look back reveals signature vinyl-only dancefloor jams praised by DJs and tastemakers the world over, as well as unreleased joints that are just now escaping Moonstarr's studio walls.

Previous vinyl-only joints include:

Detriot: A deep house anthem originally released on Jazzanova’s Sonar Kollectiv in 2004. Misspelling intentional to connect back to tumultuous times of civil unrest in the city that birthed Techno.

Greed Remix: Sweat-soaked samba dancefloor stormer originally released on Compost Records in 2003.

Don't Sweat It: Batucada Tech sounds originally featured on Portugal’s
Grooovement Records in 2005.

The Recipe: A moody techno number originally released on Toronto’s Chair Records headed by Dan Lui in early 00's.

Scarborough RT: Moonstarr’s contribution to the very first 12” released by PTR called Metropass showcasing the man’s musical obsessions, melting Hip Hop and Bossa Nova.

Unreleased joints hitting eardrums worldwide for the first time:

Take It Back: DeepTechno rooted in the turn of the century and thick withY2K dreaming.

Running:A moody tribute to the broken techno sounds of late 1990s in proto-broken beat era.

Nasdaq: Quirky d’n’b tune created in response to the infamous dot com stock market crash in the late 1990s.

Marz: As the rover landed on Mars countless space dreamers followed its adventures by eagerly examining all photos beamed back to Earth. 3-D glasses were adorned to examine this foreign landscape. Hence, a soundtrack was born.
